On-call – Virus cleanups, network wiring and router installations

DFAS.mil contract – Worked at the top of the DFAS WAN as a Tier Level II Network Technical Support for all of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service locations in the WAN. Coordinated with DISA on connectivity issues to military bases and ships. Used several technical tools to troubleshoot connectivity issues across the DFAS.mil network. After working real hard to earn all of the Microsoft certifications on my own without any company assistance, I was wrongfully terminated because my new boss did not like me. I went through a very long hiring process from January 1998 to August 1998 also which meant I was viewing this job as a long-term career position in my technical field.

Serviced and supported 50+ users on Windows 95 clients/Windows NT 3.51 server network. Configured field service support laptops.

Convert token ring to Ethernet network on the Cleveland Center DFAS network.

Upgrade workstations by swapping out PCs and transferring data to new workstations.
In January 1998 I had a pedestrian (myself) vs car accident outside of the building while with the group that ended up as a Worker’s Compensation case so after the contract ended in March no other contracts were offered. It was a second shoulder injury and is a permanent problem even after two surgeries.
